Bothy

After a flurry of changes over the last couple of days, I decided to roll out this version as 1.0.0.

The theme is at a good point now with the addition of the category intros and the summary feature. It’s more than likely that for the next few weeks, I’ll just be rolling out updates to fix CSS styling and any other specific Micro.blog features I might have missed.

There are also a number of other changes in this release:

• Tags are now displayed on the right-hand side after a post and are separated by commas.
• Summaries are styled with dashed borders at the top and bottom of the summary.
• Borders on images are now removed - I’ve been on the fence for this for a while, but decided borderless is better for this theme.
• Removed a redundant H1 styling
• Extracted pagination and categories into their own partials. This has made the theme much easier to work with, and I hope to extract a few more duplicate sections into partials.

The Bothy 1.0.0 update is now available in the Plug-ins section on Micro.blog.

Bothy 0.2.0 is ready to use and adds a colour scheme toggle, which adds a bit of colour to your blog.

Alongside the light/dark toggle at the top is a button that you can click to change the colour scheme of the blog. Neutral is the default, but you can cycle through purple, green, blue and amber.

There are a number of smaller styling fixes in this release as well.

Bothy 0.1.0 is ready to use and adds an automatic dark mode toggle.

A switch at the top right-hand side of the page allows you to switch between light and dark modes and saves your preference to your browser’s local storage so that next time you open your blog, it remembers your preferred mode.

Bothy is currently under development. This blog is a live example of the theme’s progress. As soon as the first version is ready, I’ll upload the theme as a plugin to Micro.blog and post an update here.
